After Queen Elizabeth II’s death on September 8, 2022, lots of events, shows and series have been halted so as to show respect for the Queen’s passing. Unfortunately, the Strictly Come Dancing 2022 series has also been delayed and the BBC has updated its new premiere date.

 

Since the moment the announcement concerning Queen Elizabeth’s death was made, many events have ceased for the moment. A 10-day period national mourning was also announced the day she died. In light of the Queen’s death, events ranging from football to fashion shows have been postponed to later dates.

 

The Strictly Come Dancing 20th series which was supposed to premiere on the 17th of this month has now been postponed. Also, the filming of Netflix’s upcoming series, The Crown has also been suspended. According to Peter Morgan, the writer of the Emmy-winning drama, the series is actually a love letter to Queen Elizabeth II. He also stated that filming for the sixth season of the series will be temporarily suspended out of respect.

 

Other programs like the Last Leg and the final of Celebrity Masterchef have also been delayed. Although, the final of Celebrity Masterchef will screen on Thursday, 22nd of September, 2022.

New Launch Dates For The Strictly Come Dancing 2022 Show

According to the BBC, the pre-recorded launch show will now air on the 23rd of September, Friday. While the first live show will be on our screens the next day, which is the 24th of September.

 

It is also worthy to note that in the middle of August this year, the full lineup for the Strictly Come Dancing show was announced. Dancers like Helen Skelton, Kym Marsh, Ellie Simonds Kaye Adams, Matt Goss, Fleur East, Will Mellor and Tyler West will be on the show. The judges for the show are still Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood, with Shirley Ballas returning as head judge.

 

It is also important to note that Bruno Tonioli left the show and Anton Du Beke has since replaced him.

1. Tony Adams:

The former captain for England and Arsenal’s men soccer team is one of the Strictly Come Dancing Show contestants. He has stated that he’s very much stoked for this year’s competition and can’t wait to meet his dance partner.

2. Ellie Simmonds:

In an interview with Radio 5 Live’s Sunday Breakfast, Simmonds declared how excited she was for the competition. Remember that Ellie Simmonds won a gold medal for swimming at Beijing’s 2008 Summer Paralympics.

3. Kym Marsh:

During the time of an old talent show, Popstars, Kym Marsh was actually part of the Hear’Say pop group. She has revealed that she is actually nervous but is looking forward to the competition.

4. Fleur East:

She’s one of the contestants with quite a lot of experience as she’s been a contestant for X Factor. She was the runner-up on the show in 2014, she has said that she’s equally thrilled for the Strictly Come Dancing series.

5. Richie Anderson:

“it is a dream come true”, he said, adding that he cannot wait for the show to begin.

6. Hamza Yassin:

The cameraman and wildlife presenter revealed that he’s been watching the show for years. He also stated that he’s ready to work hard for the competition.

7. Kaye Adams:

The 59-year-old broadcaster and journalist has said that this competition would actually be a memorable way to spend the last year’s in her fifties.

8. Tyler West:

he declared that the Strictly Come Dancing show is one that means a lot to he and his family. Adding that he can’t wait to be on the dancing floor with other contestants.

The CBBC has also revealed that she has been watching the show for long and can’t wait to be part of it.

10. Will Mellor:

The Hollyoaks, Casualty and Coronation Street star has also declared that he’s equally eager for the Strictly Come Dancing 2022 show.

11. Helen Skelton:

Skelton has said that it would be so much fun to join this competition. Remember that she appeared in the Strictly Christmas special, 2012.

12. Ellie Taylor:

She has also revealed that she is very excited to come on the show. She said she has watched it for years and it has now become a dream come true.

13. Matt Goss:

he has stated that although he is nervous about joining the show, he’s optimistic about it.

14. Jayde Adams:

The comedian talked about being a big fan of the show. Adding that it means so much to her, she’s equally stoked to make an appearance on the show.

15. James Bye:

The EastEnders star revealed that he’s not the perfect type of dancer but he’d give it his best shot.
