Like passing the 1-billion-dollar point at the global box office, a feat the other Jurassic World movies have achieved. The movie is also nominated for two Saturn Awards; Best Special Effects and Best Science Fiction Film. Now, if you ask us, this is definitely a good ending for a reboot trilogy like this.
The Jurassic World Dominion movie concludes this trilogy that started back in 2015 but from what we’ve seen, it seems fans aren’t still satisfied. Some fans of the franchise want more, whether it’s a spin-off, an animated movie, a cartoon or even a video game. If you are actually part of these fans that want to see more ‘Jurassic stuff’, Director Colin Trevorrow has an answer for you.
Colin Trevorrow On The Next Jurassic Movies
Colin Trevorrow was the director of Jurassic World Dominion, he also co-wrote the story alongside Derek Connolly. Trevorrow was in a recent interview with Empire Online and he talked about the evolution of the franchise. Adding that he specifically did things different than the past movies to changing the DNA of the franchise. According to Trevorrow, all this is actually a move to provide more fresh opportunities down the line. If the next Jurassic movie gets a green light, this important move will definitely pay off.
Some people would definitely not want the dinosaur-themed movies to end with Jurassic World Dominion. This is one of the reasons why Trevorrow had to do what he did with the trilogy’s ‘final’ movie. The director/writer wants the iconic franchise to move forward, he also had discussions with Universal Pictures about this. Trevorrow also stated that the additional fresh cast of Dominion have lots of exploitable opportunities. In his words:
“This movie clearly takes a real interest in creating new characters that a new generation is going to latch on to”.
Trevorrow also pointed out that there would be more to come in the future. Although, this got quite some not-so-positive reactions from netizens online, there are others excited for more. Some of them have said that there’s no need for a next Jurassic movie.
